  "section_title": "Clinical and Academic Collaborations",
  "intro": "Prof. Montoya maintains active collaborations with leading clinical centres and academic institutions worldwide. These partnerships are dedicated to advancing research in neuromodulation, pain neurobiology, translational clinical trials, and neuroscience education. Clinical collaborations focus on developing and testing innovative therapies for chronic pain, neurodevelopmental disorders, and rehabilitation, often involving multidisciplinary teams and patient-centered approaches. Academic collaborations foster the exchange of knowledge, joint publications, and the development of computational models and neuroimaging techniques to better understand brain function and disease. Together, these efforts aim to bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and real-world clinical applications, improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of neuroscience.",

We have developed innovative EEG and neuroimaging methods to study chronic pain and neuromodulatory interventions. Joint publications, such as on increased delta/theta power in sickle cell disease (Lopes et al., Brain Topography, 2024) and brain imaging in health/disorders (Fontes Baptista et al., Brain Imaging and Stimulation, 2023), highlight our interdisciplinary approach. We have contributed to novel pain biomarkers, computational models for pain prediction, and the translation of neurotechnological advances into clinical practice."
